I haven’t written a book review in a while (and with good reason). Between trying to relax with a good book in hand and trying to keep the kids from starving for attention- time can get away from you. Every once in a while I’d look over and see the books looking back at me saying, “read me, read me”. LOL. But as it turned out, I was only able to read a paragraph from one and maybe another 2-3 paragraphs from the other. It’s driving me crazy because they’re both great (from what I’ve read) and I plan on getting caught up on my work as soon as humanly possible so that I might be...

So I think it’s safe to assume that most, if not all kids, are back at school. For the young ones; this is an exciting time. It’s new and definitely full of fun learning experiences. But for those entering into Jr. High and High school…these years can be pretty rough, maybe even a little overwhelming. If the overload of classes weren’t enough for these kids to deal with…try adding clicks, wearing the latest brands and/or dealing with peer pressure. This can be pretty stressful for a teenager. And if all of that wasn’t enough still; let’s add acne problems to the whole mix. From...
I guess it’s only me at the moment, but I’m getting a little bored of the theme I have now. I want something new, something eye-catching and fun to visit. I would love to have my comments numbered (which is a minor detail, but something a giveaway blog needs). I want something a little more organized, functional and professional. It’s not a lot to ask, but I can’t seem to find what I’m looking for. Every time I do find something I want, they’re missing a function I really desire to have. I don’t know what to do…argh!!! What do you think? What would make your visit at Blogfully...
You heard it correctly…but, let me repeat it in a little more detail. Enter the Hampton Chain of Friends Sweepstakes for your chance to win a free weekend stay at any Hampton Hotel (good for winner and three friends) or a grand prize of having an entire hotel for the weekend; 100 rooms for 2 nights Let me just say…If I were lucky enough to win a prize like this, my destination would have to be at the Hampton Inn, smack dab in the center of downtown San Antonio Texas, on the River Walk. I would invite my entire family (especially those I have recently reconnected with) and some of my very...

I think I just sold C on another skin care product. I can’t help it, every time I get a new product in the mail; if it’s something I think she’ll get a kick out of trying, I have to call her over. Now usually, I don’t make it mandatory for her to use and/or try it at my house. I typically hand her whatever it is I have and tell her to let me know what she thought…when she has the time to use it. The funny thing was; this time, I wanted to see her reaction. I didn’t even want to wait to find out later what she thought. So like a stern woman I am- I drug her to my bathroom, handed...
In a moment when life’s got you down; sometimes all it takes, to brighten your day, is getting a thoughtful message from a friend (even if that message has been forwarded a half a million times). Now, I could have easily forwarded this message to my friends and family and been done with it, but what good would that do? I still have you guys and I’m sure at least one of you could use a quick pick me up! So, with this said…I send you this message in hopes that it will brighten your day. Feel free to forward it to others. Make them smile and have a Happy Monday everyone! Cheers!!! VN:F [1.9.3_1094]please...

When it comes to eating sandwiches, I have to have my Mayo. My husband (the goof) prefers another brand and CJ doesn’t care one way or the other. But, for me (and the girls), a sandwich just isn’t a sandwich without the taste of Mayo…and I’m serious! I was recently asked to try the new Kraft Sandwich Shop Mayo line and needless to say…I was pretty excited. When the package arrived; I could hardly wait to make my daily desired lunch (Sandwich, crackers and a side of fruit). My first choice was Garlic & Herb and in the days that followed I tried Chipotle, Hot & Spicy and then...

On movie night, at our house, it tends to get a little chaotic. Hub and CJ live for action packed thrillers; I love romantic comedies. The girls, as all would assume, just want kid films (nothing more, nothing less). Quite honestly, because this happens all the time, I don’t think we’ve ever had a true “movie night”. It always ends up being more of a “movie weekend” just to appease everyone. So our plans this weekend, aside from going to a birthday party this evening, are to vegetate in front of the TV and not leave the house. School started this past Monday so the whole clan is tired...

If you haven’t seen one yet; the Shred Sled is one to take note of (there’s a video at the end of this post)!!! I’m just glad they didn’t have this when I was a kid because I would have definitely broken an arm or leg trying to use it. I’m not the most coordinated person in the world. I can’t even keep balance while standing on my own two feet most days. Now CJ, that’s another story. CJ can do so well at anything he tries his hand at. He’s not a very active boy, but he does enjoy skateboarding and riding bikes. It’s one of his favorite past times. The first time he saw the shred...
Since posting my Banquet Blog Tour post yesterday; I’ve received quite a few email from readers telling me how much they loved the pictures of Patience and how they couldn’t get over her facial expressions. I was even asked if she was like this all the time; Yes, yes she is- all the time. There is not a moment when she’s not making a face about something; good or bad. Dad let her take control of the camera one day and though she did take a few (literally one or two) of dad and bub; she took close to 100 pictures of herself- within a two hour period. I wanted to share some of these pictures...
The kids and I have always loved the varieties that Gatorade has to offer. When we’re out at the beach, playing at the park or attending some outdoor function; we’ll stop at a convenient store, on the way there, and grab a bottle or two for each of us (depending on how long we plan on being out). Not one of the flavors they choose is ever the same. The girls usually look at all the pretty colors and pick the one they want based on what color looks the brightest or tastiest at the time. If dad runs in and we stay in the car; he’ll ask the girls what color they want. I don’t even think...
If you’re already a fan of Banquet frozen pot pie varieties, you might be interested to learn about the new Banquet Fruit Pies too. I was given an opportunity to try a few fruit pies with the kids (as part of my participation in Mom Central’s Banquet Blog tour) and I’ll have to admit- they were pretty good. Quite honestly; I was more surprised with the reaction I got from the girls. They’ve never been a huge fan of the pie family but are very familiar with the traditional pot pies from Banquet because I buy them often. It’s funny…I decided to video tape Patience’s reaction as she...
In my family; I’m the only one who needs to wear eyeglasses. I’ve had vision problems ever since I was seven. It’s probably longer than that, but I was about seven years old when I pierced a freshly sharpened pencil through the whites of my eye. I promise you- this was a complete accident. I was erasing a mark I made on paper, during school, and basically slammed my eye straight into the lead- it could have happened to anyone. Anyways…after the mishap, my mother realized I had a problem seeing things in front of me. I can’t blame her for not noticing sooner. I never was one to complain...
Master Lock knows that being a teen is hard enough…so they have created locks that help minimize everyday stresses. If you didn’t already see the new locks on store shelves while grabbing school supplies for your child, you might want to consider trading those traditional all to drab locks for the really cool and vibrantly colored “secret combination” locks from Master Lock. They’re not only neat to have but they’re pretty fun to use too (all while keeping those combinations ‘top secret’). If you have the time; check out “The Secret Combination to Surviving the Teen Years”...
It’s 10:30pm on a Sunday and I’m all done…I mean completely done with my house work. I’ve finished shopping for those last minute school supplies and was even able to get the kids fed and in bed before nine. They are actually (surprisingly) fast asleep. I’m still in shock because I really thought they’d have a very hard time falling to sleep because they have been so antsy about returning to school tomorrow. I’m guessing that since we had a very, very busy week, and weekend, they are pretty well pooped. Lucky for me; the house it in perfect order now. Which, by the way, makes for...
I love the wonderful world of online communications. I was checking my email this morning and came across one with the subject line, “related”. I was pleasantly surprised to read that one of my second cousins found me through a YouTube video I had commented on a while back. You see, My uncle, Homar Hernandez, was a composer for Tejano music. I get in this mood every once in a while where I just need to hear his music and draw up a few tears while I reminisce his presence. Anyways; I saw a video for one of the many songs he wrote on YouTube and left a comment about him (to him). I’m so happy...
