One of the most spectacular people on this earth (to me) is Elton John! His music, talent and charismatic attributes are amazing.

The first time I listened to his music and saw pictures of Elton John; I instantly fell in love with the man. He is unique in every aspect of the word. He’s an idol in my eyes and always will be…and I’m not just saying this. He is seriously one of those people that catch my attention every time.  He is in a class of his own and cannot be topped.

I was lucky enough to review a copy of Elton John; The Red Piano DVD a few days ago, and I think I’m going to need another copy (LOL). I have literally played it over and over and over again. I pop it in the DVD player in the mornings, replay songs I absolutely love (like Benny and the Jets, Daniel, Rocket Man, Tiny Dancer, Candle in the Wind and Your song) and keep playing it until I go to bed. It’s a captivating DVD and I recommend “The Red Piano” to every single one of you.

If you’re looking for just the right music to play at your “Memorial Day” or “Father’s Day”celebrations on May 25th and June 21st , this would have to be that DVD to get. It’s one that’ll help spark up some amazing conversations and set the mood for some needed time warping; with scenes from Pamela Anderson (on the “Bitch is Back”) and Marilyn Monroe (in “Candle in the Wind”); you’re sure to have a lot to chat about and reminisce.

Thousands of Elton John fans have traveled to Caesars Palace Las Vegas to see over 200 sold-out The Red Piano shows, helping break attendance records and setting new standards for musical entertainment.

Now available everywhere for the first time, the concert DVD or a high-definition Blu-ray format contains the 14-song performance of The Red Piano show, including fan favourites such as “Candle in the Wind,” “Your Song,” “Rocket Man” and “Tiny Dancer.” The Blu-ray features a bonus 50-minute documentary, “The Life and Legacy Of Elton John,” with behind-the-scenes of David LaChapelle’s treatment of the show, plus stage projections, as well as unique raw videos made for the stage backdrop for select songs.  LaChapelle has made a name for himself for his celebrity portraits and videography for artists such as Madonna, Amy Winehouse, and Britney Spears.

The show debuted to critical acclaim in February 2004 with reviews proclaiming it as “A must-see” and USA Today notes that “Sir Elton is still standing as an indestructible talent.”

Using a red piano as a starting point, John enlisted his friend and photographer David LaChapelle to develop art and imagery that would complement the music and enhance the experience for the audience, coupled with lyrics by long-standing song-writing partner Bernie Taupin.

The production raised the bar for Las Vegas performances featuring multi-color neon sculpture, pop art, inflatables, baubles, balloons and the band. “It’s [the show] what I’m like from an artistic point of view,” said Elton. “It’s fun, it’s deep, it’s the songs I really love and it gives me a chance to get across what I am all about, visually as well as musically.”

Elton John’s career has spanned four decades and he is one of the top-selling solo artists of all time. With more than 50 Top 40 hits, and more than 250 million albums sold, an Oscar and five Grammy awards, he has one of the most successful and sustained careers in music history.
