Today is the day; the day the worldwide celebration of the digitally re-mastered CD for the first time ever; as well as “The Beatles; Rock Band” video game. So what are you going to do to celebrate?
I wanted to tell you a little bit about what’s in store for all you Beatles fans out there:
First off; the collection comprises all 12 Beatles albums in stereo, with track listings and artwork as originally release in the UK, and “Magical Mystery Tour”, which became part of the Beatles’ core catalogue when the CDs were first released back in 1987. Now, in addition to this, the collections ‘Past Masters Vol. I and II’ are now combined as one title, for a total of 14 titles over 16 discs.
When you purchase the CD boxed set; you’ll see each CD’s new packaging, booklets that include detailed historical notes along with informative recording notes. I’m telling you…it’s the best thing to happen for a Beatles fan- ever!!!!
Oh, but hold on. With this comes a second boxed set that has been created with all you collectors in mind. “The Beatles in Mono” gathers together, in one place, all of the Beatles recordings that were mixed for a mono release. This set will contain 10 of the albums with their original mono mixes- PLUS two further discs of mono masters. Hold on though because it will also include an added bonus; the mono “Help!” and “Rubber Soul” discs that also include the original 1965 stereo mixes which have yet to be previously released on CD.
The coolest most anticipated thing for me is that these albums will be packaged in mini-vinyl CD replicas of the original sleeves with all original inserts and label designs…how cool is this?
This is sneak peak of what you’ll get:

I have to say that I am totally excited about today! I think that it’s great that they would re-master something that means so much to everyone.
Tell you what; I wanted to make this post a little different than the rest, because of the special celebration for the re-mastered release. I thought I’d share a list of my top ten songs ever sung by the Beatles. Here they are:
- Twist and Shout
- Lucy in the sky with diamonds
- Hey Jude
- Dear Prudence
- Come Together
- Yellow Submarine
- A hard day’s night
- Hello, Goodbye
- Help!
- Strawberry Fields Forever
I couldn’t possibly put these in order of favorites; I could much less narrow it down to two or three…10 is the smallest list I could go with and even then, it didn’t include some of my other favorites.
How do you feel about the Beatles? Are there songs that take you way back to a day you wish you could relive? Is there a song that just brings you to tears because of what that song says to you?
Here’s a video stream for “I saw her standing there”
Or how about a video for Beatles Fest Fandemonium

Thanks for reading and HAPPY BEATLES RE-MASTER DAY!!!!

I saw The Beatles sing “Help” on the Ed Sullivan Show when I was seven. I thought it was a song about a guy in a wheel chair: “I never needed anybody’s help in any way/But now those days are gone/I’m not so self-assured…”
My favorite Beatles song is We Can Work It Out.
