Where is the Heart Of Your Home?

The girlsThe heart of my home has always been anywhere in my house that my family spends time together. Sometimes it’s the living room and sometimes it’s the kitchen.  Sometimes it’s the entire family, squished in one bed, carrying on for hours without a care in the world. Other times, it’s just the five of us making dad’s favorite no bake cookies so that we can have them all to ourselves. It just all depends on what’s happening and where it’s taking place. I have so many fond memories from every room in our house that I can’t even begin to choose one place in particular…and that- my kids will vouch for.

We moved into our apartment when my youngest was just three months old- she is now six and a half. We’ve gone through some pretty rough times in those years and also, some pretty spectacular ones. Every room in this house is filled with the fondest of memories and not one of them is worth ever forgetting. We have shed many tears, shared a trillion laughs and we’ve managed to go through it all- together.

misc family pictures 106We may not be able to buy our kids all the cool and expensive things they want, but when it comes to family time- we will gladly share it with them. Some of our memories include having pancakes for dinner and leftover pizza for breakfast the following morning because we “want to”.  Memories like sitting with the kids and sharing our childhood memories with them…they always seem to get a kick out of hearing about when we (dad and I) were kids- it’s like they can’t ever imagine seeing us as a kid or something (?).

In the end, the heart of our home is always going to be-us…the kids, my husband and I. We grow together, support each other and love unconditionally, always.

     *** I took on the simple task of answering the question, “Where is the heart of your home?” for a chance to win an amazing Samsung Washer (WF448AAP) and Dryer (DV4481AEP) over at Twitter Moms; the influential moms network.
  Now, answering the question for an entry into the contest wasn’t that hard because we only have one special place in our home, but the difficult part is going to be getting comments since, for some reason, I don’t get many of those. You see, this contest is based on who gets the most comments before the deadline (OCT. 2, 2009) so please, won’t you consider helping me out? I could really use a new washer and dryer set.****
UPDATE: If any of you are wondering what I will be doing with my old washer and dryer, should I win…I plan on throughing the washer away or finding a mechanic that will fix it (motor’s about had it and I have to use a small registry to hold the door shut). I will be giving my dryer (a year old) to a friend in need by passing it forward, or to an organization, church or someplace like this that could use it. I thank you all for leaving such wonderful comments and all who frequent Blog Fully. Without you, I would have no reason to continue writing! 8)

    The heart of our home is our bedroom. Our kids can usually be found in our bedroom even though they have bedrooms of their own. Our cats spend lots of time in our bedroom as well. :)

    you make it sound so warm and inviting even tho it is just an apartment. Here’s to hoping that one day you and the rest of your family can have a house to call a home and that be the heart.

    Wow.. Well.. I can honestly say that I have seen your pizza for breakfast, and pancakes for dinner.. I believe I have shared that with you at some point in time.. I’d have to say that you are one of the strongest women I know…You deserve the very best, and from what I see.. You have it honey.. That video is great.. I loved seeing your babies so young.. That is something I remember dearly..

    The Heart of My Home is the living room. We love our family nights there because someone is always out doing something. We usually have a meal of finger foods and watch movies and play games all night!
