DAY ONE – MR Messy PRIZE PACK GIVEAWAY

It’s finally arrived…the day we’ve all been waiting for; but, before I get started with all the festivities, I’d like to first give thanks to the three amazing companies that have donated these awesome prize packs I’ll be giving to five winners throughout the week. These companies are: General Mills, Target and Chorion. Thank you so much!!!!

Today I am going to be talking about those little “messes” our dear sweet-never do anything wrong-children we were so heavenly gifted with.

As all my friends, family and followers know; I have three of these kiddos and boy have I seen some messes in my time. I have a son who is now sixteen. He doesn’t really make “messes” anymore, but there was a time when he made some pretty nice ones.

When my son was just three, we decided to buy him a bunny (those cute bunnies with super, super long ears). We figured it was quieter than a puppy, nicer than a kitty and more active than a turtle. So Anyways, if there’s one thing we all know about bunnies and rabbits; it’s that they leave droppings everywhere.

For the sake of this post...here's a bunny (LOL)

One day, after a busy day, we came home to vegetate. CJ went into his room to play. He was generally pretty quiet and happy when playing by himself, but for some reason, on this particular day he seemed unusually quiet.

We didn’t think much about it, but after about five minutes we decided to go check on him, just to make sure…LOW-AND-BEHOLD- the mess we found in there was horrendous!!!! Holy CRAP what a mess- Literally!

Now, I’m not talking about toys, shoes and movies; I’m talking- kid DROPPINGS- everywhere! Each and every inch of this room had a piece of little boy & bunny poop. We didn’t know what to do. We didn’t know whether to scream and whoop his bare butt or laugh (and cry) at the site we were graced with.

Hubby took the logical approach (aint he sweet?); he simply told CJ to run to the bathroom and grab a roll of toilet tissue (and the dust pan). He calmly asked CJ to tear off a few pieces of tissue and had him hold the dust pan close to each spot. We then explained how it needed to be cleaned up. He was doing G-R-E-A-T – picking up all the “crap” as we quietly observed.

Near the end of this episode; Hubby stopped CJ and asked him to smell just one of his masterpiece “poop-drops” that lay lying on the carpet…let’s just say there is a happy ending to this story. In the midst of this chaotic moment; hubby found a window of opportunity to teach my son about where “poop” should go. After telling him to sniff his creations we walked him to the toilet (as he gagged) and told him to “drop” it. When he did, hub told him to look closely at where it was and then told him to flush the toilet. He gave CJ a little pep-talk about where all his YUCK needs to go for now on and…that was it!! We never had to buy another diaper again. After we bathed CJ and put the bunny back in its cage, we took a trip to Target and let him choose “big-boy-pants”; the rest, my dear friends, is history.
