  1. Hi, I think the one thing I like about stand up comedians is that they bring everyone together with their jokes and laughter. A comedian can make fun of anyone no matter the race, religion, profession, etc. You can have the most diverse crowd and find everyone laughing together for that short period of time. I have never seen another area where that occurs.

  2. First of all, Love Jon Reep, he’s great! I relate to him since most of his act is about small town life. Going to the Comedy Works theater locally is a good night out, who doesn’t like to laugh! Would love to have Jon’s METRO JETHRO DVD!!

  3. did anyone else catch the bloggers mistake that it’s not RETRO jethro…it’s METRO jethro. i think jon worked very hard to come up with this…let’s give him the decency of spelling his title correctly.

and this was the best standup i’ve EVER seen!! i’ve already ordered 40 copies for xmas gifts! thanks for the laughs!

    • Oona Cello,

Thank you for catching my mistake- the “blogger” you speak of is me and I’m sorry to disappoint. Yes, he is awesome and…mistakes happen- I can laugh at myself (ha-ha). It was just one of those words that “stuck” in my head (Retro, rather than Metro)…thanks!

  4. rock on sista :)

  6. The thing that I like about stand up comedians is that you can be having a bad day & flipping thru the channels & land on the comedy channel or even BET where there are stand ups doing their thing & just start laughing at their jokes because you can relate to a lot of what they are talking about. It turns your day around & laughter truly is the best medicine.

  7. email subscriber, if that counts as an extra entry. If not, well…okay :)

  8. I like good stand up comedians that make jokes about everyday things that drive you crazy so you laugh about them to keep from screaming! Comedians remind us that life is too short to always be serious.

  9. My DVD/CD GIVEAWAY + a nice review – http://shar.es/aAapy

  10. I think john reep is funny as hell and the first time i seen him in stand up i was a instant fan and i can relate growing up in a small town and the joke and pranks that go along with it and i cant wait to have this cd and dvd

  11. What I like about stand-up comedians is the talent they have. Do you know how hard it is to tell someone a joke you heard and not screw it up? These people take everyday occurences and turn it into something funny. Recounting what I heard at a comedy club always brightens my day. Stand up comedians have to fill out a crowd and tell jokes accordingly. When Jon came to Kansas I couldn’t relate to his small town stories but I left wishing I had grown up with him in Hickory. The dancing alone had me in tears.
Not everyone can pull it off.

  12. I love stand up comedians. They can take the most serious circumstance and make it funny. Life is crappy but they can make you laugh at it and it be okay. Laughter is the best medicine, and stand up comedy is where you can get it by the case load. Most of what they joke about is true, and that is what is so funny about it. They have a way of telling what most people think, but are too afraid to say. Their delivery of their acts bring people together through laughter. And if in life I need a pick me up or just a good laugh…I know where to go, Stand up comedy.

  13. I have saw Jon 2 times and we also played a lil blackjack after the show for a few hours man hes not only funny as heck but he is a truely nice guy he doesnt think hes to good for people just a great man!My whole family was voting for him on last comic standing thats how long we have been fans thats 6 phones texting away .

  14. I first saw Jon back in 2000 at a comedy club in Gatlinburg, TN. I have been a dedicated fan of his ever since. I honestly think that he is the funniest standup comic out there!

He also truly cares about his fans. He has kept contact with me, one way or another, for the past 9 years. I was lucky enough that Jon did a show here in my area back in 2005. Halfway through his show, he looked over and noticed I was in the audience. He then preceded to tell everyone when and how we met. He gets to know his fans…and remembers them. What other comedian does that?

I will ALWAYS be a huge Jon Reep fan! I told him 9 years ago when we met that he’d make it big….it’s awesome to see that his dream is coming true!

Thank you Jon for giving us all the gift of laughter!!!!

  16. Well, a true comedian is a person that can make you laugh by talking about REAL stuff. Like Jon does. If you were raised in the south, you know exactly what he’s talking about, and you’ve more than likely experienced it. That’s what makes it so funny, THAT is REAL COMEDY!

  17. I love to laugh-I love original material-I think this world needs more laughing and stand-up comedians provide that :)
