#2 Renee…CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
This book is one of those books I couldn’t keep to myself. I knew, immediately, who I wanted to share the book with and therefore, I will not be doing this review. Instead, my very dear and long-time friend, C. Rider, will be sharing her thoughts (you’ll understand why in a moment).
The moment she came to me with her thoughts, I told her she had to write it. I wanted this review to come straight from her because it couldn’t have been written any better even if I tried. Please give this review a moment of your time as I feel it is a touching story.
Without further a due…

Review by C. Rider:
As a diehard fan of STP and shortly after following into Velvet Revolver, I’m no stranger to the career and publicly followed personal tribulations of Scott Weiland. I have often wondered what was really going on behind stage, off stage and at home…
As soon as I picked up Mary Forsberg Weiland’s,”Fall To Pieces; A memoir of drugs, rock ‘n’ roll and mental illness”, I couldn’t put it down to save my life. All I heard was this song playing over and over in my mind, reading it page by page by page, seeing it all happen like I was right there with her the entire time. I was able to completely throw myself into her story. I don’t know if it was because I could relate to 99.9% of it (minus the fame and money of course), but I know and could feel every ounce of her emotional turmoil as I too have had my share of addictions and lists of mental disorders. I feel her constant and never ending challenge to maintain sobriety, mental health and motherhood because there is more to life than drugs & rock ‘n’ roll. Mental illness can be harnessed reigned in and controlled.
Mary Forsberg Weiland’s memoir is an inspiration and a light for those who have and those yet to overcome these same or even similar demons that may come our way. Fall To Pieces made me laugh & cry, it made me “itch”, but most importantly, it made me see the light that so many have failed to see. Knowing that there are some still out there with the resolve and the position to help save those from the dark.
Pick up a copy of the Memoir and read it, or gift it. Either way, it has definitely made its way into my top 3 memoirs if not # 1.
To Mary:
I too had a “Black Hole Sun” experience. I’m a fan of “hospital” food and I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
Regards,
C.Rider
Thank you C. Rider; for writing such an emotional and touching review. I don’t think I could have captured the story the way that you have. I am thrilled to know you and am proud to be sharing your thoughts with my readers. I feel that they will appreciate your thoughts as much as I have. Thank you!!!

I would read it myself, then pass it own to my sister and my mom. Sounds like a very interesting book.

I’ll be honest – I would gift it to myself.
I am curious about the book, her take, and her life. I am hoping that it is way more insightful than some of the clips I have read that are full on tabolid fodder. Your review gives me hope for that.
I am a really super big Scott Weiland fan. Like ask me a random triva question – could nearly tell you his life story – he’s music change my life — yeah I’ve been that girl for the last ten years.

I would have given it to C. Rider, but since she has read it, I would keep it for myself. I too relate to many of the issues she has dealt with and still deal with the mental issues in myself and family members. After I read the book, I would pass it on to my mother so she could understand what we have endured on our journey and then give it to my cousin who also suffers from mental illness. C. Rider has told me about the book and am anxiously waiting to read it!
I would give it to my daughter. She has been wanting to read this. I would also read this for myself to understand some of the things that my daughter has gone through. I would also give it to my niece who is Bipolar and a musician.

This book really does look awesome. I just finished reading a different memo about bipolar disorder… “bipolar bare: my life’s journey with mental disorder- a memoir” by Carlton Davis. Carlton wrote such vivid memories about his life and the struggle of living with bipolar- I found it to be very fascinating. I know that I would absolutely love “Fall to Peices” also!
