Now, I’m one for using comparisons, but if you loved Erin Brockovich the movie, you will love this book. It’s a book, much like the way Erin (the little person) Brockovich and the law firm she worked for beat, in court, all the big guys. In this book you’ll see it happening. You’ll feel the intense moments unfolding as they (a New York-Based law firm; Constantine & Partners) sought to end a devastating credit monopoly that personally touched millions of consumers. It is a triumphant story (true) that features cameos by lawyers, judges, businessmen including the-then University of Arkansas law professor Bill Clinton and New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer.  The plaintiffs; hold your seats- include Wal-Mart, Sears Roebuck, The Limited, Safeway along with a class of five million stores. It’ll have you, without a doubt, glued to your seat.

About the Author:

Lloyd Constantine is a graduate of Williams College and Columbia Law School. He was Assistant Attorney General of Antitrust for New York State from 1980-1991. As Chair of the Antitrust Task Force of the National Association of Attorneys General from 1985-1989; he began a movement that led to uniform antitrust enforcement guidelines. In 1994 he opened a boutique antitrust specialty firm – Constantine & Partners, later Constantine Canon. His political involvements, including serving as senior advisor in the Spitzer administration, precluded him from telling this story until now.

Okay, I have to admit…the 1st page completely threw me for a loop. It almost hurt my eyes.

Now, with that being said, once I got past that one page I was hooked. It almost felt criminal; that I was even reading this book. I had to remind myself that it was just a book and not some TOP SECRET confidential file that I stole and was reading. I really had to remind myself that the NSA wouldn’t be breaking my door down because I had it, Right???

If you’re into mystery crime thrillers, this is a definite MUST-READ. I refuse to say anything more about the story line than what the synopsis gives you. I just cannot do it…so, here’s the info- go out, get it and enjoy!!!

The Cooperating Witness is a work of fiction. All incidents and dialogue, and all characters, with the exception of some well known historical and public figures, are products of the author’s imagination and are not to be construed as real. Where real-life historical or public figures appear, the situations, incidents and dialogues concerning those persons are entirely fictional nature of the work. In all other respects, any resemblance to persons living or dead is entirely coincidental.

I just finished a book called Emma and Me–don’t remember the author but wow, that was a sad book with a surprising ending. Also read The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold recently and it was interesting, unique and I couldn’t put it down!

Love mystery books! So many good books to list, but mysteries and some of the new scandelous biographies come to mind!
