Well, I have always been known as a “frugal shopper”. I carry that title with pride (not to mention my husband loves it!). You can’t even call me a shopper really; by most standards, I have the male shopper instinct.
I’m definitely not your typical “female” prototype that feels “the call of the wild”, so to speak, to “have-to” spend money. I hate credit cards and all that they stand for. So, in saying that; this book, this tomb of knowledge, should be something every American reads. It will expose you to the truth about advertizing and how it is, basically speaking, a bunch of propaganda.
I already knew about the “advertising”, so, it bears no weight on my choice of products, or the “I have to have that now” gimmick. Being the “smart shopper” that I strive to be, this book Shoptimism completely mystifies my shopping way of life.
If you need an eye opening experience, if you want to see the light at the end of the tunnel on what you buy and why; this is a definite must-read for you.

About the Book
In this book, Lee Eisenberg will explain why we shop and buy the way that we do. This book will explain the broad universe of marketing, retailing, advertising and consumer and scientific research-an arsenal of powerful forces that combine to form what he calls “the Sell Side.”
The second half of this book will explain the differences, in attitudes towards shopping, between men and women; pretty engaging information!
