Paul McCartney
Good Evening New York City
Imagine this……Citi Field (aka Shea Stadium), tens of thousands of fans fill the stands in anticipation of Paul McCartney (infamously known for being a member of the famed Beatles) taking the stage. Now I wasn’t born early enough to experience Beatle Mania but my music horizons are very broad and well versed.
I was, without a doubt, thrilled when I was handed this to review. This live 3 disc (2cd/1dvd) set is an amazing addition to anyone’s music collection. I don’t know about you, but when I clean I like to put music in that gets my blood pumping (to keep motivated).
Well, as soon as I hit play and turned up the volume; my kids streamed out, 1 by 1, until all of us forgot about cleaning and began singing and dancing. It’s the stuff home movies are made of really. When my husband came home and realized we were all pooped from dancing and had scratchy voices from singing to loudly, he wanted to know what all the hoop-la was about. So later on that evening, after the kiddos were put to bed, we poured ourselves a glass of wine and curled up on the sofa to watch the DVD portion of the set, which by the way, was the entire run of both CDs.
We could only imagine what it would be like to be back there live. With the energy you feel just from watching it and the Goosebumps you get when a particular song hits you in just the right way that it takes you back to some moment in time that resonated with you. You know that it will always be a part of who you are no matter where you go. I loved how Paul brings back to life the sounds of the past, present and the future. Not very many can make music that magical. Ok so as you know, it is a 3 disc set. There are 2 CD’s and 1 DVD. The discs were made to look like baseballs that were autographed by Paul McCartney. It fits well; given that the concert was performed in a baseball stadium. Are you waiting to hear what songs are included in this crazy-beautiful set? Ok, from the back of the cover sleeve which contains the 4 folded books that holds the discs and booklet:

Sounds like an interesting cd set, especially disk 2, which has some of my favorites, like Hey Jude, Live and Let Die, etc. I can’t wait to get Beatles Rock Band
Now I’m going to have Blackbird lyrics running through my head for the rest of the night….
