WOW- I don’t know what to say. I know that everyone’s different and that everyone is gifted with their own sense of humor, but, WOW!

I’m not here to dissect any part of his show. Overall, I thought it was funny. I do, however, feel obligated to tell you that his humor is not for everyone and definitely not for anyone under the age of 18. His humor can be a little deep and sometimes jaw dropping. If you’re the type of person that gets offended easily, I don’t think this show’s for you either. This is 100% uncensored humor.

Synopsis:

As raw and offensive as ever, Artie Lange returns to his roots in New York City. One of America’s funniest stand-up comedians, Lange’s irreverent, uncensored humor gets huge laughs from the NYC crowd. The culmination of nearly four years of touring, JACK AND COKE includes nearly an hour and a half of insanely honest, hilarious material. Hope you like it.

ARTIE LANGE

I was actually amused by this film and found it to be “somewhat” hysterical (at times). But then again, I normally watch standup comedians with an opened mind to everything fathomable. We all know that most of them will shock us one way or another- that’s their job and duty as a comedian; to go where no one has gone before. Well, Artie Lange definitely went where no other comedian has gone before. You’ll just have to watch it to see.

ARTIE LANGE BACKGROUND:

“Artie is the funniest, sweetest motherf***er around.” – HOWARD STERN

Artie Lange was introduced to The Howard Stern Show in 1998 when he accompanied his friend Norm MacDonald into the studio. He made such an impression during his first appearance on the program that he was asked to become a full-time member of the cast after Jackie Martling left the show in 2001.

Prior to the Stern Show, Lange was a member of the original cast of the sketch comedy series MADtv. After MADtv, Lange continued his television work on Norm MacDonald’s sitcom, Norm. In addition to television, Artie’s filmography includes Dirty Work, Lost and Found, The Bachelor, Old School, Elf, and Beer League.
In 2008, Lange co-wrote an autobiographical book with Anthony Bozza titled “Too Fat to Fish,” which appeared at number one on the New York Times best seller list under hardcover non-fiction. A New Jersey native, Lange currently resides there.

I agree that all people have different tastes in what they like in comedy and I am ok with that. I find comedians that use offensive language not to my liking. I guess I am a bit old fashion … I still like Red Skelton, Jackie Gleason type of comedy and I don’t seem to find that type of comedy much anymore.

I totally agree Steve. I’m more of the “Blue collar” comedy-type person myself.

This DVD, although good for some, wasn’t necessarily my favorite. But speaking openly, I think that some people would find it to be totally funny.

    Blogfully yours,
    Barb

Now, don’t get me wrong Josh- my husband loved it too. I think he’s funny, just a bit much for me (I’ve been a mommy too long I guess).

I would probably be the same way, Barb. I can’t help but watch something and go, “What kind of example am I setting for my daughter laughing at offensive stuff?” If the humor is more “raw” than the Simpsons or Family guy, I really feel guilty watching!

I do too and I don’t know why. Even if the kids are in bed and the hub and I are watching a film, I feel bad that I’m watching something rude and crude. Almost like I’m doing something wrong- LOL. Oh well. I can’t say the film was bad-bad. I actually found some of it to be pretty commical, other parts to be, um, not my cup of tea when it comes to humor and others well, who knows(?).

I do like Howard Stern so I can’t say it was 100% shocking.
