Merrie L – CONGRATS, YOU WON!!!!
Before I get started I feel I must explain my absence. My niece (that I take care of) had a major-major surgery and I have just not had anything else on my mind except her care and welfare. Between the trips back and forth to the hospital and just trying to manage things at home I simply haven’t had the time much less my mind about me.

Well before I even opened this book I knew what it was about. Just from the book jacket alone. As previously stated before I come from a dark past and I dove right in. Everyone who has ever had any issues or mental disturbances knows all to well about the act of “cutting”. I myself toyed with the title of “cutter” in one of my darkest times. Anyone who has ever been apart of this degree of self medication knows that there is no same reason to which they perform the act. Willow’s story is unlike my own; her reason is far different then mine was but none the less traumatic. Like most of us “ex-cutters” someone always finds out. It’s not exactly like it can stay hidden forever. In Willow’s case someone she doesn’t know does find out and can’t just ignore or forget that this damaged soul has crossed their path. It’s a great coming of age, rites of passage, first love story that will grab you and not let go until you’ve cried either from pity, sympathy or just plainly being a kindred spirit. It was a little troubling for me to get through, but only cause it reminded me of myself in different ways long ago.
**Please keep an eye opened for an interview I did with Julia Hoban**

C R – I hope your niece is doing better. Surgery is always stressful when it involves the people we love. My prayers are with you and your family.

Sincere wishes that your niece is back on her feet soon!
I think this sounds like an interesting book–I can’t relate to the cutting aspect but I, like you, know all too well how hard growing up can be when you feel alone and disconnected for whatever reason.
I want to come to your house and steal your library of books! (That IS a joke, don’t start fearing for your safety or calling the cops or anything drastic)
lol…your silly, I know better than that, but then you wouldn’t have to enter cause you’d have everything…lol…and i got your recommendation for Paper Towns and I’ll be making a trip to B&N today so I’ll pick up a copy…. Thanks
