Affordable Eyewear at Just Eye Wear

Just Eye Wear I was contacted at the beginning of the month with a request to review Just Eye Wear’s website and a pair of glasses. This came with a guarantee that I could find a prescriptive pair of glasses for under $50.00. Now being that I enjoy a challenge, I accepted the request. Not because I didn’t think it could happen (buying a pair for under 50), but because it couldn’t have come at a better time. I have actually been shopping for a new pair of glasses and let me tell you, they’re pretty pricey out there. I’ve been really hesitant about spending the kind of money most places are asking; especially when I wear them, mostly, before bed and when I wake up in the mornings. I usually put my contacts on shortly after my first cup of coffee.

I just can’t believe how expensive eyewear has become, can you? The prices are far too expensive for me. It makes me cringe just thinking about it. Yeah, that always leaves a bad taste in my mouth!

Okay, so after I accepted the review request and we worked out all the details, I eagerly (and excitedly) went to the site to start shopping for my, soon to be, new pair of glasses. Now I have to admit, it was pretty tough. There were so many cute styles to choose from and frankly, I wasn’t quite sure which one I wanted most. In the end, I was torn between two pair- this pair and this one. I couldn’t decide which one would fit my frame better. Don’t you hate it when that happens? I hate not knowing what I want or at best, not being able to decide between two favorites.

After an hour of continuous contemplating, I turned to the girls. I thought it might be better that way, plus, I always enjoy seeing the girls work together to help me solve a problem. As it turns out, they were more than willing to help break it down to that one special, has-to-be-for-me pair of glasses. They didn’t care too much for the choices I had made; they liked them but they had their eyes set on another. As you can see from the picture, the girls decided on a pair that basically meshed both my favorites together. They weren’t entirely square nor were they entirely “oval”- they were perfect.

I think it’s safe to say…my kids know how to shop. They get that from me. Now if only I could get them to clean their room as well as they go shopping and we’d be alright! ;)

Okay, so once the decision was made, it was my turn to fill out all the prescription stuff and submit my “order”. That part was simple. You just need to have your prescription handy. Oh, and you might want to have a particular measurement (it tells you how on the site) handy as well. It’s a basic measurement of distance between one pupil and the other (they have a guide online). Some doctors, like mine, don’t supply this information with the written prescription, so you might want to ask for that before you purchase, or, have your spouse or a friend help. You can even do this yourself. All you need is a basic ruler and a steady eye if you choose to do this yourself (oh, and a mirror- that would help).

JUST EYEWEARI submitted my order on March 8th. Moments later, I received an email notification confirming my order…I checked it over to make sure I didn’t put the numbers in the wrong side (OS & OD can be so confusing!). Everything was good so that part was done. Now all I had to do was wait.

In just eight days, my glasses arrived. They were packed, nicely, in a complimentary case that was also covered in packing material. Okay, brace yourself because I don’t normally do this- I ran upstairs, took out my contacts (during the day) and wore my new glasses. I loved them!

Now, the total price for my pair was $48.00 + $4.95 priority shipping (including prescription and a thinner lens). My shipping charge was refunded to me a few days later (because of the review), but typically, that would be the cost of your shipping. My frames were a beautiful flat metal (black) finish and they were really nice. I felt good in them and

FYI, I’m not going to say that you can’t spend over $50.00 because you can. There are frames that are priced higher. If you plan on adding all the extras (like lens tinting, etc.), it is possible to exceed $50.00, but as I stated earlier, you can definitely get a pair for under that. I simply chose (well, my girls did) a lesser pair of frames and did not add a whole lot of extras. I could have gone a little thinner, but that would have brought me over $50.00. I kept it simple and I’m glad that I did.

I was so happy with the glasses, the site and the whole buying experience that I have and will continue to recommend this site to others. In fact, I already plan on returning to the site for my husband. Don’t tell him I told you, but, he’s next. He’s getting old and needs glasses now. The hard part will be getting him in to see an optometrist (I’ll let you know how that works out- he’s not much of a “let’s visit a doctor” person).

I wish I had known about this sooner. I just recently purchased a pair of glasses and I can tell you that I paid significantly more then $50. I will definitely keep them in mind for the next time.
