I have been laughing so much the last two days. My son didn’t like this game. He said it was silly and that he didn’t really care for it. The reason I found this so funny is because I finally figured out that he just can’t play it- that’s why he doesn’t like it. He simply can’t stay alive long enough to get to the next level. Every time I heard him play it was… “awe” (pause) “mom- I don’t like this game” (pause)…LOL!

He’s 16 years old. He likes “shoot-em-up games”. He seems to think he can kick butt at any game put in front of him. But, the minute he plays one that he can’t, he thinks its not good. Poor baby; the first time I played it, I played for 15 minutes straight before I got killed. I laughed at him and told him to try it again. Boom, 2 minutes later I heard the military tune…he lost again. I got on (one more time) to prove that it can be played longer than 2 minutes and bam…15 minutes later, I’m still playing. This just comes to show, you can’t win ‘em all!!!

Now, this game is not hard, it’s actually a really cute game and I thought the graphics were pretty sweet (especially since they’re purpose was to recreate an old game). I can’t say that it’s a game everyone will love the second they play it, but it’s definitely a game to try. Especially since it’s only $0.99 to grab it- it’s a steal.

It’s funny, if you think about it, how most games that were a hit way back when are surfacing again. Just like the Atari; many games that were once played by many of us as kids are hitting the stands for the next generation. The only problem with that; most of the kids today are spoiled and don’t get the games we used to play.

Air Brawn is a 3rd person shooter game that is a remake of the 1984 classic Mac game Airborne!.

Game Info:Air Brawn Game ScreenShots

Players defend and ward off destruction of an outpost under relentless air attack from waves of helicopters and other aircraft that drop paratroopers, tanks, missiles and bombs onto the screen with the simple mission of blowing up the player’s gun station. With only their trusty mortars and antiaircraft gun in hand, a player’s skill level is greatly challenged! Watch out! Points are awarded for each enemy that the player destroys, but for every round of mortar or antiaircraft gun that a player fires, they also lose a point. Players need to watch how many times they fire!

I think that the younger kids today just don’t appreciate the classic style games. To us, playing games like this bring back fond memories of games past. Not that we don’t like all the games that are out today; just sometimes, it’s nice to take a step back and play games that used to be the best ever!!!

I’m a big fan of the old style games and I’m glad that I was able to review this one with my son. Even though he wasn’t too fond of it and we both had a difference of opinions when it came down to whether we liked it or not, I’d like to think it’s worth the time to play it. At the very least, it took me back to the days of Airborne! and if you can remember that game…and loved it, than I really think you’d appreciate this one too.

I have admit that this game sounds like a fun game to download to my iphone and it would be one more game that would most likely prove that it was smarter than me. I am currently trying to prove to those games that now rest in the cobwebs of electronic circuits of my iphone that I am in deed smarter than they are. I have really succeeded winning some of the games, but others I swear are sticking out their tongue and saying, “I am better than you!” Little do they know is that I am in complete control … and I may hit the delete button at anytime and download Air Brawn and start the frustration all over again! I whisper this threat to them … and now I will try to see who is really smarter. LOL

I think that’s what my son was thinking the whole time he “tried” playing the game LOL…he’s such a funny boy.

I thoroughly enjoyed the game and told him he was not allowed to remove it from his touch, just in case I wanted to play it again. He laughed in my face and then said, “okay”.

My husband CAN’T STAND IT when a video game gets the better of him–just like your son, he’d be saying, “This game is no good, I don’t like it,” etc. and I would be laughing the whole time :)
