Bling Strands make such a great conversation piece

Ever since the first time we were sent Bling strands to try; we’ve been in love. My girls will be wearing them when we go some place and we always seem to get a lot of attention. Everything from people stopping us in the streets to ask what it was in the girls hair to people making comments about how cute my girls were and how amazing their hair looked; which always followed with questions of “where can they get their hands on some?” and “how much do they cost?”.

If you hadn’t heard of Bling strands before…maybe you’ll remember a picture of Beyonce, taken at the Grammy Awards? Maybe the sight of her “hair in shining” made you take notice of what they were. If not; I’m going to share the secret of where you can get your own.

bling strandsMy daughters love receiving new colors from Bling strands and usually, once we’ve added them to their hair, they come home from school telling me that all their friends want me to do their hair too. It’s actually pretty cute because they just love getting all that attention. But who wouldn’t. I mean, their girls and girls love compliments, right?

I’ve written about Bling strands a few times before, but it’s one of those companies that I don’t mind rewriting about over and over again. My girls enjoy the strands they get to try and I enjoy making my girls happy. It’s a win-win situation here.

Basically speaking, Bling Strands are, to describe them in it’s simplest form; they’re kind of like Christmas tree tensile. Just not as fragile and not as thin, their also much-much prettier!! They’re strips of beautiful colors that you tie onto the base of your hair.

Here’s a few pictures of my girls with them in:

BLING STRANDS (1) Bling Strands Review

They are pretty cute aren’t they? So, I guess you’d like to know the “how much” and “where to get them” now dontcha?

Available at: www.blingstrands.com (when the site states its The Ultimate hairstyle accessory – they’re not lying!!!)

Prices: $6.50 for 25 strands/18 inches and $11.00 (on sale for $8.95) for 25 strands/ 36 inches

PROS: they do so much to the overall look of your hair. It’s like an automatic enhancement to any and all hair types. They’re also great for special occasions, birthdays and would be perfect to give as a gift for someone.

Another PRO for this product is that they stay on for a good week or longer. Even if you blow dry & style your hair. It can all be done while these are in place. It’s just a really great product for girls of all ages. My girls love them a lot and I know that (as picky as they are) if they like them, odds are, your kids will like them too!

CONS: none really. The only problem I ever had or can see anyone having is during the very first time you use them (but the problem is solved simply because they offer a “how to” video on the site that helps). For me, it was figuring out how to put them on as easily as they showed on the site. That is the only problem. But as I just stated, they have a how to video on the site to help anyone who needs it.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this product review and will visit the sponsors site. I really think that you’ll enjoy them as much as  my daughters and I have. The colors are truly amazing and something I’d recommend to anyone who’s wanting to “bling” up their look!

Disclosure: I was provided a sample of Bling Strands, via It’s a glam thing and Bling Strands, for the purpose of my review. Everything written within this post are my own opinions and thoughts based on my experiences with the product. Please visit www.blingstrands.com if your curious about the product or would like to try them yourself. Thank you.

  1. When I saw Beyonce’s hair at the Grammy’s I promise I thought of your review! Those are really cute, but honestly now Barb, I have big clumsy hands–how easy would they be for me to get into my daughter’s baby-fine hair? And, can you use a brush while wearing them?

  2. Piper (the youngest) has really fine hair and I’m able to get them tied in;it actually is easier to do hers than it is to do Patience’s hair- Patience has very thick strong hair). In fact, the challenge to this is trying to get just one or two strands of hair.

As tough as it was, after the first couple of tries, I’ve actually become a pro at doing it. I could do a head of hair in less than 10 minutes now.

I won’t lie, I was a bit frustrated at first because I just couldn’t get the hang of it. I watched the video a half a dozen times before a light in my head lit up and I, seriously, went, “duh”…

I think that even with the clumsiest of hands, you can do it. But, you’ll need a little practice. Maybe I’ll do a video of how I did it (since I have some strands left) and I’ll upload it to this post.
