Review: One Night In Jordan- A Concert for Peace
| April 13, 2010 | Posted by barb under Music |
Talk about some seriously mesmerizing music. I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I’ve played this and still find it intoxicatingly beautiful.
Zade, the young Jordanian Composer (and pianist) is building bridges of peace through his music. I tell you one thing, this music definitely WoWed me! Okay, seriously! You’ve got to watch the trailer for this concert…take a listen. It’s intense!!! Sorry, I would have added the video here so you’d be forced to watch it, but unfortunately- there wasn’t any HTML code to include it. That’s alright, you’ll have to head to the link above to watch it. You have to do it though…it is truly worth it!!!
There are so many genre’s of music and I love most of them. But; when it comes to Orchestrated music- I think I tend to have more of a love for this. I don’t listen to it nearly as much as I should or would like and when I do, it really smoothes out the wrinkles in my forehead from the day’s tediousness and miniscule tasks. For a moment, I can relax and put that stuff behind me. For me, it’s like listening to the waves from the ocean. You can never get enough of that. It’s good for the mind.
Before I go on and on with what it does for me; let me share a few paragraphs from the press release written @ the Washington Post on March 9, 2010.
Named by the Washington Post as a "gorgeous pianist/composer/hunk," and recognized by The Washington Times as "Jordan’s leading Cultural Ambassador (who) dedicates his music to building bridges of peace and tolerance," the young Jordanian composer and pianist ZADE makes his public television debut joined by over one hundred musicians from 40 nations to present “a message of peace to the world” in ZADE – ONE NIGHT IN JORDAN: A Concert for Peace airing as a public television special in 2010. The CD and the DVD of the concert was released in the US on March 9th. It will be followed by an international concert tour by ZADE commencing in the summer of 2010.
The composer’s epic cinematic music blending East and West draws inspiration from the anthems of the great film composers, his homeland’s natural beauty and the efforts of His Majesty the late King Hussein of Jordan to make peace in the Middle East. Recently, ZADE and some of the world’s finest musicians – including London’s renowned Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Voices Choir, virtuoso violinists Karen Briggs (Soul II Soul, Yanni, Wynton Marsalis) and Grammy winner Charlie Bisharat (Elton John, Black-Eyed Peas), Ramon Stagnaro on Spanish guitar (Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, Shakira) and world music woodwind maestro Pedro Eustache (Paul McCartney and Don Henley) traveled to Jordan to present an uplifting and majestic musical journey of ZADE’S compositions at one of the world’s largest remaining Roman Amphitheatres, built nearly 2,000 years ago…

I really think that if you’ve never been much for music in this genre- listening to the music from Zade might just change your mind. The music is impeccable and, you know, I can’t really explain it any other way. It’s just one of those sounds that you’ll have to hear for yourself. It’s a concert you won’t want to miss. I totally recommend it!!!
Sorry for repeating how much I love it and not really explaining anything else. You know how it is. You find (listen, watch or read) something amazing and there’s not really much else you can say about it. All you want to do is tell someone – go, check it out and see for yourself – that’s me right now. I am almost speechless; to a point where there’s nothing more I can say. I really feel that, if you like The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, you’re going to love this collection. If you like the Orchestra (with a Jordanian twist), you are going to love it. I’m sorry I don’t have more to say. I just really, really enjoyed it and think you will too.
Do me a favor, please. Take a listen to the music and tell me what you think. I’d really like to know how you feel because I know I’m not the only one that is totally in love with Zade’s music…PS- I’ve emailed my PR to see if a giveaway is possible. If so, I’ll update this post (cross your fingers because I think one of you guys would be more than thrilled to own your own copy).

First of all I would like to say this is a great post. I haven’t seen many music posts on your site, but this one is one of best reviews I have seen. I went to Zade’s web site and listened to several of songs and found many that I really liked. His music reminds of Yani who I have found to be one of my favorites. I went to my trusted iTunes store and downloaded the following songs:
Zaina
Santiago’s Dream
Tango
Princess Lullaby
The Princess Lullaby is on the album named “Zade” and the other three are on the “Album One Night in Jordon.” I love to listen to music and because of your post I have found another artist will be listening too. Music has power and Zade’s music has power! I am always reminded of what Zig Zigler (Motivational Speaker) once stated, “You write the laws for your country, but let me write the music for your country and I will rule your country.” Zade’s music exhibits this power! Thanks for your review.

Thank you so much Steve. I really do appreciate it.
His music is that good. I’ll have to listen to Yani now.
I love this music, Barb! I had never heard of Zade before. This is something I would listen to in my car or at night when I’m unwinding from the day. I play “chill out” music for my daughter at nap and bedtime; I think she would enjoy this too. Very beautiful and what a lovely message of peace for a Middle Eastern country to send to the world!
Great review Barb. I love Zade’s music. A giveaway would be really great. I agree with Steve Capell, reminds me of Yani, who by the way is excellent. I may have to break down and buy this CD.
