The Lost Cases of Sherlock Holmes- Game Review

So you say you like mystery solving games? Then this will definitely appeal to you.

In this game; player solves mysteries with Sherlock Holmes. It’s a hands on mix of addictive hidden objects and, of course, your deductive reasoning’s. Now, the games are super quick, but every time you play it you have a different outcome. A different mystery. All you have to do is figure out the “motive”, suspect and murder weapon used in order to solve the case.

The game itself was pretty interesting. My son didn’t care for this one…but, he’s also not into the clue finding games like I am. Real quick; the reason I  include my son’s opinion in most of the games I review; for one, it’s his iPod, and two, we are so different in our game “genre” and age that I believe it helps my review. I like the puzzle, clue finding, mentally challenging games where as he enjoys the shoot-em up, fight fire with fire type games. Occasionally I’ll review one that he didn’t think he’d enjoy and then he ends up loving the heck out of it. You see he’s my 16 year old in-home critic and he helps so much with my job. So anyways- just thought I’d share that with you.

From many of the other reviews I read for this game; it’s said that it resembles the game Clue very well. I can’t attest for that as I had never played that game as a child (or an adult for that matter). All I can say – I thought it was a pretty fun and interesting game. I personally liked it.

The graphics were phenomenal and the game play was easy, but mostly fun. I also liked that the game didn’t go on for ever. They were quick enough for me to play a few runs and then put it away but slow enough that I was able to enjoy it. Basically; it grabbed my attention.

After playing this game and enjoying it and then watching my son play it briefly (and not liking it)- I guess it’s one of those games you’d just have to try out. Since it is a mystery solving game, which apparently is not a game for everyone, you’ll have to be the judge.

Here’s the game info for you (as well as a link to check it out):
