Win One Give One with Betty Crocker + Giveaway (1 winner)

Have you purchases any fruit flavored snacks from Betty Crocker lately? If you have, then you may have noticed the “Win and Give” boxes that are sweeping off the shelves. Haven’t seen them yet? They’re easy to spot. Just look for specially marked boxes of fruit roll-ups, gushers, fruit by the foot and stickerz & shapes snacks. They are clearly marked with a big Win One Give One stamp. Grab that code (no purchase necessary) and submit it online. You could win one laptop to keep; Betty Crocker will donate another to a child in Africa.
I received a box of Fruit Roll-ups and a box of Fruit by the Foot to facilitate my review. It was pretty neat; the whole experience. They have a local group of African students telling you to enter a code. I had about four to five kids tell me, “awe, you didn’t win”, sadly- I didn’t win, but this was so cute. I think it’s the first time I’ve ever smiled when I “lost” anything…LOL. Be sure to head over to the official website and enter your codes.
As for the taste of these favored snacks; they’re always great. We like purchasing the variety pack so that everyone gets a flavor the like. I always end up eating the strawberry ones because for some strange reason, the kids love every other flavor, but Strawberry (?). Don’t ask me why; I have no idea. I mean, they eat strawberries like they’re going out of style. They just wont eat anything (and I mean anything) else with the word strawberry in it. They refuse to do it. My kids are just weirdoes!

So anyways, as I was saying; Betty Crocker has a sweet giveaway right now. Each day from now through May 30, 2010, one laptop prize will be awarded to a U. S. Winner. For each laptop won, a laptop will be donated to an African child through One Laptop per Child, an organization that creates educational opportunities for the world’s poorest children. They provide each child with a rugged, low-cost, low-power connected laptop with content and software designed to help kids have an enjoyable learning experiences.
In addition to receiving two boxes of Betty Crocker fruit flavored snacks for the kids and I. A donation in the amount of $25.00 was made to One Laptop per Child (on my behalf). They are also going to provide two additional boxes and will make another $25.00 donation for one of Blogfully’s readers. How’s that for sweet goodness? So let’s start this giveaway, shall we?

Before holidays and her birthday our daughter helps pick out some of her own toys, books, and clothes to give to other kids–family members, friends, shelters, churches, etc.–as part of our her learning to share with others. And the rule is she has to give away good stuff, no broken or stained things!

I watched the video–I think it’s great that BC is getting our kids involved with helping the children in Africa.

When my son was growing up one year during the Fall Festival parade there was a little boy in a wheelchair who couldnt run out and gather the candy that was being thrown from the floats. Unbeknownst to me, my son went over to this boy after the parade and gave him all of the candy that he had collected. The next thing I knew, the boy and his father were beside me. The father told me what my son had done. The man was so touched by what my son had done that he had tears in his eyes and gave my son a $5 bill. The next day my son was sitting next to me in church. When the offering plate was passed he quietly slipped the $5 in it. He told me after the service that he didnt give the candy to the boy to get anything in return and he wanted to give his $5 to help a missionary family. Today my son is a seminary student working on his masters degree in theology. I cant take a lot of credit for how my son turned out. He is just a great kid. But, I have always encouraged all three of my children to give to others.

My children don’t need much encouragement to help others…they love too. One thing that we do altogether is go thru their outgrown clothes & toys & give them away to a local charity!
