Disney’s StarStruck Extended Edition (Review)

If you have kids in their tweens and teens (and even younger; I’m sure), then you’ve probably seen or even heard of StarStruck on Disney. If you have girls, then you’ve probably heard the little cutesy remarks about how adorable Sterling Knight is too…if not, then you’re not hearing them (LOL). I’m sure you’ve even seen the commercials on Disney for the Extended edition DVD release that will be released on June 8th, 2010. If none of those hold true for you, then let me be the first to tell you…

Patience, Piper and I watched the Disney Premier of this movie when it aired on Disney back in February. They watched every re-run of this movie following, and, they are obsessed about watching Sonny with a Chance just to see Demi and Sterling. The girls are positively in love with Sterling knight and they love hearing him sing any chance they get. They like him so much; they could be in another room and hear the song being played on Disney and run downstairs to hear it, sing it and dance to it. It really is cute to see. I laugh every time.

We received the Extended edition of Disney’s StarStruck a few days ago and it’s already been played a gazillion times. Not to mention the CD that came with it. I think they’ve actually played this (DVD & CD) more than the Wizards Of Waverly Place CD we received about 8 months ago and that was played a ton (even now).

The great thing about Disney features “turned” DVD/CD release is that, I’ve already seen them with the girls. We see practically ever Movie feature released on Disney. We watch all the commercials, plan out times around them and eagerly watch (every time). By the third viewing, the girls can tell you screen by screen- what’s going to happen and which is their favorite part…which is every part, every time- LOL!

Buy StarStruck Extended Edition StarStruck, a music and adventure-filled romp that hits all the right notes for kids and tweens, tells the story of Jessica Olson (Danielle Campbell, Prison Break) and her older sister Sara (Maggie Castle, Time Traveler’s Wife), who are heading to Hollywood from Kalamazoo, Michigan, on a family trip to visit their grandmother. Sara is obsessed with pop star Christopher Wilde (Sterling Knight, Sonny with a Chance) and hopes to track him down while in California, but Jessica could care less about the stuck-up star and would rather go sightseeing. When the sisters arrive in L.A. Sara takes Jessica on a hunt to find Christopher and a chance meeting with the star sets off a series of comic adventures that feature many of L.A.’s landmark locations. As the sisters sightsee and spend time together, Jessica gets to know the real Christopher and soon their friendship grows. Ultimately Christopher must decide what is more important — being himself or becoming a movie star. Disney Channel stars Brandon Mychal Smith (Sonny With a Chance) and Chelsea Staub (JONAS) also star as Christopher’s loyal best friend and fame- hungry girlfriend, respectively.

The ‘out of this world’ bonuses featured on the StarStruck: Extended Edition DVD include:
   •    Extended version of the movie – only available on DVD
    •    More Music with eight Rock-Along tracks to sing-along with!
    •    Three Hot Music Videos

StarStruck was #1 in its time slot among kids ages 6-11 and tweens ages 9-14, and was the most watched February original movie premiere in total viewers. StarStruck: The Extended Edition DVD is the only way to get the exclusive content not aired on TV. A modern day Cinderella story, StarStruck promotes strong messages about honesty, humility, self-acceptance, and strength of character.

As for StarStruck; the movie really is a great one. The story behind it is beautiful and so magical. It’s a story about finding yourself. A story about honesty, humility and self-acceptance. It’s a DVD we were thrilled to watch and review. So, mark your calendars for June 8th, 2010 and get your hands on that DVD. It’s well worth the moola and the kids will thank you for it.
