I am fanatical about receiving products that my kids get to take part in reviewing. It simply makes my job more enjoyable. I love getting toys, shoes, food, movies and anything else that will put a smile on their face. Candy is especially nice though because it’s something we don’t eat very often.
Normally I tell the girls everything we’re going to review before I even hit the “reply” button…and I was going to tell them about this opportunity, but then decided against it. I thought it’d be much sweeter to surprise them…especially since ring pops are their most favorite candy in the whole universe. They’re cute, very tasty and it’s so fun watching the girls role play as they eat their huge colorful, eatable diamonds. They’ve got such an imagination.
So, anyways…
I received my package in the mail on Friday (before the kids were released from school). I held on to them; anxious to treat each of them with one Ring pop. Let me remind you very quickly that I’m not very good at keeping things a secret. I’m also not very good at holding back on something I want to share (no matter what it is)…
Each day, when we pick the kids up from school, it’s the same thing…a very loud and chaotic ride home. The kids always have something exciting to share and they can’t wait to tell it. Unfortunately that means that it all gets said at one time. For me, it proved to be “perfect timing”. So, I lifted the bags out of my purse and looked at them. It was so funny. It took them a second to notice what I held in my hands but once they noticed they let out this tremendous scream. Wow, and those screams can be deafening. But in an instant the noise stopped. Once they tore the wrappers off- not one word was muttered. It was like (pacifier to a crying baby) quiet. You could have literally heard a pin drop. And the best part; they had no idea that what I gave them was sugar free. To them, it was their normal favorite candy. No one companied, instead I heard “these are my favorites!!!!” & “thank you so much!!!”. I’m glad the kids loved their ring pops! Somehow I knew they would.
Let’s back up to before we picked up the kids. When I received the bags of Ring pops in the mail, this is what I observed:
<–You can click on the image to read more, but in a nut shell…the new Ring pops have no fat, no sugar and are only 30 calories each. They come in three flavors: Blue Raspberry, Strawberry and Watermelon. As far as the taste goes, it was never compromised. You can buy them in packages of 3 at your local Wal-Mart for $1.33
I am so glad I was given the opportunity to try these with the kids. I am very impressed with the reactions I got from them as well as the
We go to a convenient store every few days (once in a while it’s with the kids) and each time they ask to have a candy 99.9% of the time, they choose ring pops. I figure, if you are going to let your kids have that piece of candy they’re asking for; why not offer a ring pop? At least you’ll feel comforted knowing it’s better than most in terms of sugar content. At least, that’s how I feel about it.
So what do you think of the change? Do you think you’ll be more willing to give them a yes answer if they ask for a sugar free ring pop?
