Review of ProFlowers Birthday Gift Baskets

The best thing about having a birthday are…THE PRESENTS!!! I mean, other than the gifts, there’s not much to look forward to anymore…especially when you’re over 30. After the 30th- a birthday is nothing more that a yearly reminder that you’re not young anymore. The only thing left to look forward to are the presents so they’ve gotta be good, right?

ProFlowers is making good with the Birthday Gift Baskets and taking the argh out of the moment by offering a large variety of flowers, candies and fruits. They’re also offering some really great traditional (and not so traditional) food baskets!

I was given the opportunity to try out any one of the many Birthday gift baskets offered at ProFlowers online. It took me about an hour and a half to choose just the right gift…and not because there wasn’t a single basket I wanted. It was actually quite the opposite. There were so many things I wanted to try; making it harder to narrow it down to just one. After another hour online I ended up going with the Hearty Traditions gift basket. It looked fantastic and I just knew I was going to enjoy the cashew brittle- OMG I could almost taste it! I’ve eaten peanut brittle before and have always loved it so I was really curious about cashew brittle. Have you tried it? What’s it like?

As you all know- I’m still currently house sitting for my sister and surprisingly this did not interfere with receiving and reviewing this product. I just let them know where I’d be and that was it.

The day FedEx knocked on my door; we had already enjoyed a nice lunch and were relaxing with the kids when the doorbell rang. Let’s just say it was perfect timing!

My Thoughts

Although I was very impressed with the overall packaging and presentation of the gift, I was a little disappointed in the proportions. I guess I was expecting and envisioning the picture above. I did read the product details, but as anyone else (when shopping online) you tend to buy what you see and not what you read. Just so you know; it was amazing. The food was delicious and definitely worth the purchase, but as a “forewarn” to everyone- please read the description. Take a look at what I received.

Now, don’t get me wrong- it made for a nice brunch for the girls, my mother, my niece and myself. We each had a small handful of each of the items above and we were had a fabulous time. Everyone loved the sausage and crackers and they most definitely loved the chocolate covered cherries. These were actual real cherries covered in a light coat of milk chocolate and dipped in a red dye on top. It was delicious…but do you notice something in the package that’s missing?

As it turns out; I won’t be trying cashew brittle for a while and believe me, it was the most anticipated item in the box. It was something I was really looking forward to. Shockingly, my disappointment faded quickly. Everything; the experience, the food, the togetherness…it was all amazing and something I’d do all over again.

In the end, I wasn’t upset about not being able to try the brittle nor was I even upset that the proportions were a little smaller than I expected. I was just happy that I got to enjoy this with my family. They all had their favorite parts. Oh and me, well, I’d do it all again in a heart beat.

After experiencing this with my family I realize that it’s more about the moment. For us, it was a very memorable moment. I honestly do think that ProFlowers has some great products worth checking out.
