Loving The Shred Sled

If you haven’t seen one yet; the Shred Sled is one to take note of (there’s a video at the end of this post)!!! I’m just glad they didn’t have this when I was a kid because I would have definitely broken an arm or leg trying to use it. I’m not the most coordinated person in the world. I can’t even keep balance while standing on my own two feet most days. Now CJ, that’s another story. CJ can do so well at anything he tries his hand at. He’s not a very active boy, but he does enjoy skateboarding and riding bikes. It’s one of his favorite past times.
The first time he saw the shred sled his eyes lit up and he turned to me and laughed. At first I thought he was laughing, at me, for even thinking he’d want to try it. That wasn’t the case. No, it was because he knew he was going to fall on his butt a few times before getting it right. He did fall (a lot) and we did laugh. But…it wasn’t because he kept falling. It was because he was falling so swiftly. Occasionally he’d stomp around (angrily) because he wasn’t getting it. But after an hour or two; he kept asking, “did you see me? Did you see what I did?” It was really pretty comical. He was thrilled when he finally got the hang of it and continued to ride it long after we stopped watching.By the time the sun went down; his shred sled had seen better days. It’s a good thing though. It means he liked it and that it’s going to continue to get used.
After he used the Shred Sled for a couple of days; I finally asked him if he preferred the shred sled over a regular skateboard…and his answer, “Heck ya!”.

My Thoughts: I love the Shred Sled. I think that it’s great for kids of all ages. If you have a child that partakes in skateboarding, surfing and/or snowboarding; I definitely recommend the because it’s a great way to practice balancing. It’s definitely a workout for the lower torso (as I have learned; vaguely). As for the price; if it gets kids outside and playing…79.99 is a price worth paying. Especially if it will be used for a long time after.

I sure will.
I thought we were going to get to see video of CJ learning to shred (in other words, falling on his butt)! Oh well.
I’m with you,Barb. I do good to stay upright just walking across the room. I would have LIVED in the ER if I’d had one of those growing up.
