Master Lock’s Secret Combination Sweepstakes

Visit Master Lock Master Lock knows that being a teen is hard enough…so they have created locks that help minimize everyday stresses.

If you didn’t already see the new locks on store shelves while grabbing school supplies for your child, you might want to consider trading those traditional all to drab locks for the really cool and vibrantly colored “secret combination” locks from Master Lock. They’re not only neat to have but they’re pretty fun to use too (all while keeping those combinations ‘top secret’).

If you have the time; check out “The Secret Combination to Surviving the Teen Years” web series and don’t forget to enter their sweepstakes.

Visit: www.masterlock.com/SecretCombination. You can also check out the Master Lock’s YouTube channel.

Online All of the Time:

From locker security to Facebook privacy, Master Lock is also offering a solution for locking up secrets online with the ‘Master Lock secret Vault’ facebook application. Facebook users with a juicy tidbit or fun photo they want to share with a select group of confidantes- but not their entire friend list- can install the application at www.facebook.masterlock.com, lock up their secrets in their own Secret Vault using a virtual Speed Dial Set-Your-Own combination Lock and create a custom combination to share with only a select group of friends.

My Thoughts:

I received two of the latest Master Locks about a week ago and I have to say, like I mentioned above, these things are pretty cool. I wish they offered them back when I needed them. All I ever had was the drab looking metal lock with a black face plate. I think having a lock like any one of these would have made going to my locker more fun.

Master Lock

Teaching the girls how to open each of the locks were pretty easy. Their favorite was the speed dial set-your-own combination lock (top) because, to open them, you had to move the little dial all over the place. Now, they couldn’t open it all the time, but they sure had fun trying.

CJ liked the speed dial as well because he said it was different. He liked the ease of the dials movement and said the colors were pretty cool. His favorite color is black, so all the other cool colors weren’t an important feature for him, but being able to set his own wacky combination was a plus. I thought the reset button in the back was convenient. And if you think it’s easy for someone else to try and reset it while you’re away from your locker- you’d be wrong. The lock user has to have the lock opened in order to reset it and make up a new combination.

The precision dial locks (bottom) are neat because lock users can store multiple combinations or key numbers in a secure database (www.combolocker.com)  that is accessible, online, 24/7, 365 days a year. They also come in a number of really cool colors. I love the green…my favorite color!

Both locks feature anti-shim technology, which deters break-ins from shimming that can open traditional locks. The suggested retail prices are, respectively between $8.99 and $7.99 and are available online at www.amazon.com

I agree these locks look very colorful. I think it’s shame that we live in society that we have to keep everything locked. I remember growing up in Salina, KS and we never locked our front door unless we were going on vacation. Now days you lock it if your going to be in your back yard. I guess a different time. I sometimes wonder if the simpler life was better.

We were that way about locking the doors too; only if we were leaving town. We never had to worry about privacy becuase, back then, people respected that…we lock our door everytime we enter and leave our home. We don’t want to take any chances.
