Help fight Hunger by joining Lose-A-Palooza

Weight Watchers Lose for good Here’s another interesting and very cause worthy campaign to benefit Share Our Strength and Action Against Hunger

On September 14th (a one day social media event), Weight Watchers will donate $1 (up to a maximum of $60,000) to Share Our Strength and Action Against Hunger. $1 will be donated for each approved mention, acknowledgement and/or action related to “Lose For Good”.

What is Lose For Good? For the third year in a row, Weight Watchers has teamed up with meetings members, weight Watchers Online subscribers and their charitable partners to help fight world hunger. As we ‘lose’ weight and participate in other activities (from September 5 to October 23, 2010) we can each help feed children and families in need. How and where do these ‘mentions’ count?  This can happen with each blog post, twitter tweet, Facebook update and check-in via Foursquare. If you don’t have an account with any of the above listed sites- now’s your chance to start one…or, email your friends, forward this post and call your buddies to mention Lose For Good on their accounts!

Here’s what you can do to help:

ON YOUR BLOG

  • Include a post on your blog (such as I’m doing) to include the phrase “Lose For Good” and encourage your readers to get involved by visiting www.weightwatchers.com/loseforgood (watch Jennifer Hudson’s video)
  • Comment on another blogs posting about Lose For Good. Ask your friends to show their support by commenting on your post with the included “Lose For Good” in the comments (such as I’m requesting)- On September 14th- when it counts!

ON FACEBOOK

  • “Like” Weight Watchers, Share Our Strength or Action Against Hunger pages
  • Comment or “Like” any of the Weight Watchers “Lose-A-Palooza” updates posted throughout the day on September 14th
  • Accessorize by adding a “Lose-A-Palooza Twibbon as your profile picture (available on 9/14)

ON TWITTER

  • Follow @WeightWatchers, @sharestrength or @acfusa
  • Tweet (or retweet using the hashtag #LoseforGood letting people know how they can join you in the fight against hunger
  • Add a Lose-A-Palooza twibbon to your profile picture (available on 9/14)

ON FOURSQUARE

  • Check-in to Weight Watchers meeting room to help contribute to the good (cause).
    • NOTE- Foursquare check-in is not considered a weekly meeting attendance and you will not receive Program materials, unless you decide to stay and attend a meeting and, if applicable, pay the fees then in effect. Only one check-in per user will be counted.
