Thoughts from Patience- 9 years old (questions from mom) ![]()
Mom: What was your favorite character in this book?
Patience: OOK
Mom: Why?
Patience: Because he’s so funny.
Mom: Which Chapter was your favorite?
Patience: Chapter 2, because that’s when they start introducing the dinosaurs, Lily and Mogmog
Mom: How would you explain this book to others?
Patience: This book is about two cavemen kids named OOK and GLUK and they live in a town called Caveland and their ruler is King GopperNopper. King GopperNopper is an evil King that turns all the people from Caveland into slaves that cut down logs for him. King GopperNopper travels to the future and meets his future self. This is the twisty part. Future King GopperNopper kills the past King GopperNopper with a lazar so OOK and GLUK travel to the future. They find a Kung-Fu teacher named Master Wong who teaches them a bunch of moves in order to defeat King GopperNopper’s future self. There’s a whole lot in between this stuff, so you’ll just have to read it and see.
I would say that this book is really funny and I like how they have flip-O-ramas at the end of every chapter. When you get to chapter 4 there are two flip-O-ramas in a row. At the end of the book there are bonus lessons that teach you how to talk like a caveman.
Mom: I remember you saying that you wanted another book that comes after this one; what is the title?
Patience: The Adventures and OOK and GLUK JR Kung-Fu Cave Kids in Outer Space. They say it’s coming soon-ish and I can’t wait!
