Wit And Wisdom from the Parents of Special Needs Kids (book review)

I have to say very quickly that this book should be put on your list as one to read in the near future; whether it’s just to get a better insight on what parents go through when caring for a child with special needs or to learn from these stories because you are the parent or a relative to someone who is caring for a child with special needs.

Wit and Wisdom From the Parents of Special Needs Kids is a gathering of some of the best blogosphere writers known. Each of them sharing stories of challenges and/or rewards while raising children with special needs (autism and other cognitive disabilities). This book holds over 40 essays that cover a vast majority of topics (family issues, marriage, education, etc.). It’s definitely a book with tendencies to make you erupt into emotional burst of laughs and smiles one minute to tears and sadness the next. There was even one story in particular that related to stories my family and I could share with you about Carlton (my nephew who was diagnosed with Autism years ago).

I love that this book is a compilation of so many topics and stories–from mom and dad bloggers–who live with and care for children with special needs every day. I loved each of these bloggers’ stories and I can’t encourage you enough to check it out. I think you’ll absolutely love the stories shared in this book. And trust me, you don’t have to be caring for a child with special needs to be inspired by what you’ll read.

Oh, and because they’re all short stories (about a page or two each), you don’t have to worry about “missing” your spot if you lost your bookmark. You can read all or one anytime you want a little inspiration, sadness or even hilarity.

She's your typical fun loving, happy-go-lucky gal...but probably the most hyperly enthusiastic one you'll ever meet...She loves to write and has so much fun connecting with everyone!
