Books On my Table

It’s been so long since I’ve been able to look over at my side table and see a stack of books that need to be read. I’m loving it!

The following books are so read-worthy. I hope you enjoy these titles as much as I have.

Books Im Reading

Book #1 is one I’ve been meaning to share with you for a while now. It’s a great book from Harper Teen – by Syrie James & Ryan M. James – that is sure to keep teenagers turning the pages.

Forbidden is a brilliantly written paranormal romantic story about visions, warnings, love, and just what lengths one person will go to protect the life of another. It’s definitely a book worth reading (whether you’re a teen…or an adult).

ISBN: 978-0-06-202789-4

Synopsis:

Clair Brennan has been attending Emerson Academy for two years now (the longest she and her mom have remained anywhere) and she’s desperate to stay put for the rest of high school. So there’s no way she’s going to tell her mom about the psychic visions she’s been having or the creepy warnings that she’s in danger.

Alec MacKenzie is fed up with his duties to watch and, when necessary, eliminate the descendants of his angelic forefathers. He chose Emerson as the ideal hiding place where he could be normal for once. He hadn’t factored Claire into his plans…

Their love is forbidden, going against everything Alec has been taught to believe. But when the reason behind Claire’s unusual powers is revealed and the threat to her life becomes clear, how far will Alec go to protect her?

Book #2 on my list is ‘The Klein Files LOST at SEA; The hunt for Patrick Mcdermott’ and it’s one that I highly recommend you read…especially if you’re still wondering what ended up happening to Olivia Newton-John’s boy friend. Remember the news about when he went fishing and never returned. Do you remember this story when it hit the news? Can you believe that June 2012 will mark 7 years since this happened?

It’s definitely a book worth taking the time to read.

Synopsis:

When Patrick McDermott, former boyfriend of Olivia Newton-John, went on a fishing trip in June 2005 and didn’t come back, the whole world was awash with speculation. Did he fall overboard? Was he murdered? Or did he ‘walk from life’ and start a new life south of the border?

Investigator Philip R Klein and his team spent years looking for Patrick, under the watchful eye of a television camera crew, and for the first time ever, in this tell-all account of the case, Philip reveals all the secrets to his findings.

Book #3 is one that I was actually pretty freaked out by (at times). It’s like watching a scary movie (for me). The Man From Primrose Lane, by James Renner, is a haunting thriller. It’s also funny, suspenceful, dark and above all, it’s a story that will move in all directions- from beginning to end. It’s definitely read-worthy! If you’re looking for a book that you can’t put down this book is the book to get.

Hardcover

Synopsis:

In West Akron, Ohio, there lived a reclusive elderly man who always wore mittens, even in July. He had no friends and no family; all over town, he was known as the Man from Primrose Lane. And on a summer day, someone murdered him.

Fast-Forward four years. David Neff, the bestselling author of a true-crime book about an Ohio serial killer, is a broken man after his wife’s inexplicable suicide. When an unexpected visit from an old friend introduces him to the strange mystery of “the man with a thousand mittens,” David decides to investigate. What he finds draws him back into a world he thought he had left behind forever. And the closer David gets to uncovering the true identity of the Man from Primrose Lane, the more he begins to understand the dangerous power of his own obsessions and how they may be connected to the deaths of both the old hermit and his beloved wife.

Deviously plotted and full of dark wit, James Renner’s The Man from Primrose Lane is an audacious debut that boasts as many twists as a roller coaster. But beneath its turns, it’s a spellbinding story about our obsessions, the dangerous sway they have over us and the fates of those we love.

That’s it for today but be sure to come back soon because I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the following books…
