Giveaway: Money Savvy Pig

by barb on June 20, 2012

A few Sunday’s ago, after returning home from Church, and learning about tithing. Piper came out of her room holding a shoe box, crafted to hold money in three separate compartments of the box, put together with cut-up cardboard pieces and a million miles of tape. I wish now that I had taken a picture of that box. It was cute and so crafty.

Sadly, she wasn’t very impressed with her handy work. She wanted something a little nicer and a lot sturdier than that box she made. And coincidently – just a few days later – I received a request to review the Money Savvy Pig.

And when the Money Savvy Pig arrived at our doorstep, Piper couldn’t be happier…

Review Product 002

The Money Savvy Pig is brilliant; a fun and easy way to teach kids about managing their money.

Since receiving her Money Savvy Pig Piper has been able to save quite a bit of money. She’s very proud of her bank and can’t wait to see it, in a year or so, filled to the rim with quarters, dimes, nickles and dollar bills (pennies are “okay” too). Her donate section of the bank is for her tithing…it’s her favorite section and is one she pays the most attention to.

Money Savvy Pigs sell for $16.99 ($19.99 for the Platinum) + shipping and can be purchased at www.msgen.com

Each Money Savvy Pig comes with a guide for parents and a sheet of stickers to help kids identify where their money’s going. There are five color choices and then there’s the Platinum edition that is really cool (I want one for myself) only it’s out-of-stock until mid July.

I love the idea of my little cousin starting off young learning how save and budget money. I think some adults still have no idea how to save or budget.
