Helping Kids Learn TO Draw with Steps4Kids

by barb on July 27, 2012

Everyone doodles, that’s easy to do, but to draw – that takes talent…or a little more effort to do.

Steps4Kids to Draw – a DVD for ages 4 to Adult – has over 40 lessons of items like people, animals, shapes & things to draw. It’s a cool DVD and something the girls have really enjoyed using.

This DVD uses video modeling to teach viewers how to draw.

but…the results are awesome and can really help to boost your child’s confidence about their drawing skills. It did for mine.

What I like most about this DVD is that the menus are actually set up like chapters of a movie (on DVD) and displays a picture of all the characters you can learn to draw.

This helps the viewer go straight to the drawing they want. You simply use your DVD remote control to hover over the drawing you want to draw, click play and your lesson is taught. When you’re done, go back to the menu to choose another.

There are three categories on this DVD – Things (bike, car, flowers, house, trees, etc.), People (faces, profiles or clothing), and Animals (farm, house, water and zoo animals).

The company was founded in 2005 by parents and professionals to broaden the use of video modeling because of studies showing how the use of video modeling can benefit a wide range of children both in terms of ages and abilities….

Final Thoughts:

We like it…a lot. We actually have a few of Step4Kids other handwriting DVDs (for learning cursive). The girls haven’t drawn everything on the DVD yet (only their favorites) but they do plan on trying to draw all of the items at least once.
