My son’s learning fast that living on your own is not all it’s cracked up to be. You have bills to pay, toiletrie items to buy, and your own grocery shopping to cover. It’s pretty tough, especially when you have a job that only pays $10 an hour.
CJ called me last week (via Skype) to tell me that his phone had been disconnected (apparently this was the one bill he “forgot” to pay). He said that if I needed to get in touch with him I’d have to get on Skype.
It’s a good thing I have Skype (on my computer, iPhone and iPad) because if I didn’t, I don’t think CJ and I would be talking much.
It’s amazing how many ways you can get Skype now, don’t you think? And prices for services range from Free and pay as you go to paying monthly and taking advantage of special offers.
Last month was the most fun I’ve had using Skype. It’s when I had my first group conference with my kids (CJ at his house and the girls in San Antone). It’s the first time I used my phone to Skype with CJ. And it’s the first time I got to Skype with mother (that was a cute experience for sure).
Moving forward; I don’t know that I’d call my dentist to make an appointment using Skype, or call the pharmacy to see if my prescriptions are ready, but I can guarantee I’ll use it for video chatting with the family (whether I’m sitting at home or traveling to another state)
Being an Ambassador for Skype has been so much fun. It’s been great learning about all the cool ways you can stay in touch with everyone you know (and you don’t even have to have a paid account to do this).
I can’t wait to see what new features they come out with next…
Disclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Skype. I received Skype credits to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for participating
