If you’ve never used a home projector before (like me – before the 3M), I think you’ll be pretty pleased with what I have to share with you today.
The 3M Mobile Projector (by 3M) is one truly amazing device for sharing photos, videos, movies and even your favorite games – on your wall, the ceiling, or even the side of your house – with your entire family.
The girls and I thought it’d be super cool to watch one of their favorite movies on the ceiling in our living room. But first things first, we had to test it out to see that the settings were right…
And they were…so it was time to start a movie. We chose The Lorax, their all-time favorite movie currently (after Dad saw a few trailers on iTunes). And it was awe-some !!!
Patience and Piper couldn’t believe how cool watching a movie on the ceiling could be. It did give us a crick in our necks, looking up to the ceiling (in the living room), but all was good when we moved to Piper’s bedroom. There we were able to watch the rest of our movie on her side wall – and the girls loved it so much they decided to watch it again.
And again…
And they’d watch it again right now if I let them. The love it best at night so there’s absolutely no “outside light” peaking in.
It really was one of the best viewing experiences the girls and I have ever had (in our home), especially since none of us have ever used or watched a movie on a mobile projector before.
Our thoughts:
The Good – For not being much bigger, or thicker, than a remote control – the 3M Mobile Projector packs a powerful punch. The picture was pretty awesome, even when viewing videos and/or pictures on a textured wall. It’s no heavier than a remote control either. I love it’s size and look to this projector.
The not-so-great stuff – though not horrible (nothing to discourage me from recommending this projector to others), I didn’t care for the fact that the USB cord that came with the projector was so thick (on the side that plugs into the iPad or iPhone). I have a thick iPhone case (for better protection against damage) and because the projector’s USB cord was thicker than Apple’s USB cord, I was unable to use my phone to view pictures or watch movies, unless I wanted to take my phone case off each time.
The bad – sadly, I was unable to play games on the projector. The projector said it was detecting everything on my device but nothing was showing on the screen / my wall.
In the end – I would definitely recommend this projector to others. It’s a pretty cool device, even though I couldn’t play games on it (I really wanted to see what angry birds looked like on “the big screen”…as did the girls).
