Patience was recently issued a locker at school. It’s a top one (in an awesome location) and though she hasn’t had time to “decorate” the inside of that locker; I know that in due time she’ll have that awesome locker she’s always wanted, and dreamt of all summer long. But for now, her biggest obstacle is learning how to work her “old” new -school issued – Lock.

We received a cool lock – just last week – from Master Lock, and when I say cool, I mean that this lock is the coolest!
Master Lock has brought life to a very speedy padlock. It’s electronic and digitally interfaced. It’s easy to use and can be personalized with more than one code, one primary code and 3 optional additional guest codes.
The Combination padlock – no. 1500EDBX has a list price of $39.68 but is on sale for $24.99 + free shipping. It’s best used for school, athletic lockers, cabinets, indoor storage lockers and more. And one more thing; the replaceable CR2032 battery (one installed) lasts up to 5 years.
Our thoughts:
At first I worried about the safety and/or life of the lock’s “battery.” I worried about how horrible it’d be if the battery just up and died on me while it was locked to something important but I worried more about whether or not it could be stolen easily.. After learning that the battery cannot be removed unless the lock is opened, and the life of the battery is 5 years (or more), I’m convinced this will be the perfect lock for us…or rather, the perfect lock for Patience.
The price is a little high but if the battery lasts as long as it says it will, I think it’ll be worth it. It’s definitely a cool looking lock that’s started many-a-conversations at with friends.
