3 CHEERS for @TheWooHooFactor!!!

Let’s Discover the Woohoo! Factor and talk about Neighborhood Toy Store Day (Saturday, November 10th)

Get ready for the 3rd annual Neighborhood Toy Store Day, November 10, 2012. Participating stores will host local in-store events for families (coordinated by ASTRA – the non-profit organization – American Specialty Toy Retailing Association).

Your Neighborhood Toy Store(.org) is an online resource area for parents that are interested in learning more about the best toys – for their kids – on the market, as well as where to find them. Their mission is to help parents discover the “woohoo factor” (or rather, the excitement) of finding and playing with some of today’s best toys. Have you felt that yet?

The girls and I received a nice surprise package in the mail on Saturday. It came at the most perfect time too – Patience’s Birthday weekend.

The girls and I had a super great time making friendship bracelets for friends, using the LoopDeDoo bracelet making kit! Patience made that purple bracelet all by herself, within 10 minutes…it looked great too.

LoopDeDoo, by Ann Williams, was not only a winner of ASTRA’s Best Toys for Kids 2012 award under creative art play, it was Patience and Piper’s most loved bracelet maker kit…EVER!!!

LoopDeDoo can be found at independent toy stores nationwide for $34.99 and is recommended for children 8+. The kit comes with 18 skeins of colorful embroidery string and 1 spinning tool (with a compartment to hold your string in). And in our opinion – it’s well worth putting on your list of “must-have” toys for the next decade (seriously – especially if you have girls).

Another great toy we received this weekend was Tenzi – only the coolest dice game of the century (our opinions of course, but I bet if you played it you’d most likely agree).

Not only did Patience, Piper and I play this game…the boys did too (and don’t tell them I told you but you can tell it was the most fun they’d had in a long time).

OMG – I can’t even begin to tell you how much fun this game was.

Tenzi, by Carma Games, is a winner of ASTRA’s Best Toys for Kids 2012 award in the Game Play/ 8+ category. It can be found at most independent toy stores nationwide and sells for a SRP of $14.99 and can be played with 2-4 players. It’s an exciting dice game that challenges the players to get all 10 of their own dice to land on the same number (before everyone else’s). It’s best played with kids ages 8+.

Tenzi is a game that the kids, John and I recommend you try out with your kids. We had lots of fun with this one and can almost guarantee you’d have just as much fun.

Before the end of today; make sure you visit YourNeighborhoodToyStore.org. Consider following The Woohoo Factor on Facebook and Twitter too. It’s a great way to stay up-to-date with all the greatest “local” toy store greatness!
