I don’t ever want to imagine a day without my 3 kids. They are my life and the sole reason for my existence. They’re the ones I live every day for and – ultimately – the ones I’d walk to the ends of the earth and lay my life down for.
I had lots of writing planned for today (and I still plan on getting to that), but I have decided to put them aside for a few minutes and address a more important issue; one that we should all (as human beings) care very deeply about…the safety and future of children everywhere.
I received an email update from the Polly Klaas Foundation and have spent the better part of this morning reading – and crying over – the story of Polly Klaas; 1981-1993 (if you haven’t read the story of her abduction, please consider doing so now). It’s all so heart-breaking.
It’s very hard for me to talk about topics of this nature without crying or loosing it entirely. So, with that said – I’m keeping this post short, however. If there’s one thing I can ask you to do today, it’s to lean over and hug your kids just a little bit longer. Hold them while you can and don’t forget to let them know that they (each) mean so much to you!
PS – don’t forget to order your free Child Safety Kit.
Disclosure: I was not asked to write this post nor was I contacted by the foundation to help spread the word. I wanted to share this information with you because I have a voice, and because I have children that I want to see grow old and grey one day.
