For those that have come to Blogfully often; you know that I’m a big fan of all types of music. I don’t really have a preference, though I do find myself leaning towards soft rock and country music most often. Still, music is an amazing thing. It’s like candy for your ears. It’s the universal language that can bring peace to those that listen. In saying this, I’ve got a few genres to share with you all. I’ll also have a giveaway for two CDs in the end. I hope you enjoy the Artists albums and will consider entering for your chance to win. I took the time to listen to each of the CDs...
I had the pleasure of reviewing the latest CD from Zerobridge – There We Were, Now Here We Are and I must say, I enjoyed every minute of it. Having a remarkable resemblance to some of the great alternative bands of the past; I’d have to say, I was very impressed and flat-out happy listening to the tunes on this CD. Paul McCartney Good Evening New York City Imagine this……Citi Field (aka Shea Stadium), tens of thousands of fans fill the stands in anticipation of Paul McCartney (infamously known for being a member of the famed Beatles) taking the stage. Now I wasn’t born early enough to experience Beatle Mania but my music horizons are very broad and well versed. The Starting Line Somebody’s Gonna Miss Us I’m gonna miss ya’ll!!!! I saw these guys last year @ The White Rabbit in San Antonio. Barb gave me this Cd/Dvd to review knowing the music genres that I listen too and love. As it turns out its one of the many bands I’ve seen live and I love their music. So there I was center of the crowd (cause I wasn’t gonna fight a bunch of kids to get to the front) in my 20 hole steel-toed Docs rocking out to The Starting Line LIVE!!!!! The venue played is an intimate one so the feel of the show is completely different that that of a 1000+ crowd venues....
Another must have for you guys; get your pocket books out for October 20, 2009!!! I was given the opportunity to listen to Kristina Train’s new Debut Album- Spilt Milk and it is one smooth and soulful listening CD! If you’ve ever listened to Nora Jones or Alicia Keys, you’ll agree with me one hundred percent. Kristina has that voice that resembles both these ladies together. She’s amazingly vocal, powerfully bluesy and deeply soulful when singing; she’ll have you breathless from the first minute you play her music. Spilt Milk was recorded with Jimmy Hogarth, the sought-after British...
Today is the day; the day the worldwide celebration of the digitally re-mastered CD for the first time ever; as well as “The Beatles; Rock Band” video game. So what are you going to do to celebrate? I wanted to tell you a little bit about what’s in store for all you Beatles fans out there: First off; the collection comprises all 12 Beatles albums in stereo, with track listings and artwork as originally release in the UK, and “Magical Mystery Tour”, which became part of the Beatles’ core catalogue when the CDs were first released back in 1987. Now, in addition to this, the collections...
As I’ve written many times before; I love music. I don’t really care what genre it is, as long as it sounds good and I have the ability to share it with others…because you know that music is a form of communication. I received two releases today and wanted to let you know about them. Now, if you’re a Jazz lover, you’ve either already purchased these new releases or you have plans to in the near future. Here are my thoughts. Photo By Nitin Vadukal Urbanus – with Stefon Harris and Blackout; Concord Jazz announced not long ago about the release of vibraphonist-composer Stefon...
Talk about a beautiful lady, lovely voice and awesome Soundtrack. She’ll have you bouncing around your house and smiling all day long. Roberta’s charismatic voice will remind us all of the magic and majesty of the human voice. I’ll have to say, when I heard her version of Crazy (Written by Willie Nelson) it about brought me to tears. Her voice is so captivating; it made me smile and definitely had me singing along. In fact, the last person to ever sing this song so lovely was Patsy Cline back in 1961. It was absolutely remarkable!!! Take a moment and read the press release that I received...
One of Canada’s best kept secrets (Hedley) is making its way to us. I had the opportunity to listen to Hedley’s CD “Never too late” and I’ve got to tell you…On May 19th, you better have been one of those people that bought a copy; In fact- I encourage you to do so if you haven’t yet, but, if not- one of you will win one from Blog Fully! To me, they resemble one of my other favorite bands, “Second hand serenade”…yeah, they’re that good. Take a quick listen to one of their songs: In just three short years, HEDLEY has reached an amazing superstar status in Canada. The have...
Hi everyone, I hope your day is going as great as mine! Today I’m reviewing the latest DVD from Rob Thomas; Something To Be Tour, Live at Red Rocks…and he’s spectacular!!! The only thing that could have made it better is Santana making a guest appearance for the song “Smooth”. Other than that tiny change, The DVD rocks!!! What a fun 95 minutes I spent watching the whole concert! The DVD includes live footage from his concert at The Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado- a legendary venue that has been graced by rock luminaries from the Beatles to U2. He even performs a classic David Bowie...
If you’ve noticed by quite a few of my past reviews, I’m a very avid listener to older music. It is more relaxing, has better listening and additionally, super enjoyable. I can’t say that it’s entirely because it takes me “far” back because I’m not too old, but because the sounds and styles of the songs are just so different than they are today. I enjoy the new styles and genre’s that have surfaced over the last decade, but I’m still hooked on and gravitate towards the “old school” music… George Harrison’s first-ever career-spanning solo hits collection- Let it Roll...
I’ve got another great giveaway for everyone… Big Star is due to reissue #1 Record and Radio City on one CD on June 16th, 2009 and I’ve got a copy to giveaway! I took some much needed time away from work yesterday and popped the CD into my computer so that I can listen…very impressive. It’s like I’ve taken a blast to the past and I can really appreciate music like this. I don’t know about you all, but I go crazy for old rock. The music is much easier on the ears and gets you humming along (even if you don’t know the words to the songs). You can...
WOW!!! Very good music…as I sit here writing my review I’m pleasantly enjoying the music from Elvis Costello’s latest CD, “Secret, Profane & Sugarcane”. Elvis Costello is known for having a very mellow yet intriguing sound; unique in every aspect but still very familiar to most. His voice is captivating and his lyrics, sounds and rhythm completely relax anyone within ear shot of his music. I am actually finding it hard to write (right now) only because I want to just sit on my back porch, drink and iced tea and let time pass me by. Elvis Costello’s music...
I was lucky enough to indulge my listening this weekend with Frank Sinatra. It’s a past time that I enjoy going back to and boy was I taken there. With songs like “I’ve got you under my skin” and “New York New York” I couldn’t help but smile, sing along and dance around the house with my girls.
